A DAY TO REMEMBER!
The last weekend of february 2004 we went to my parents cabin in the Norwegian
mountains. Katja even took a monday off so it was like a mini-holiday
for her. We settled
in on friday, got the cabin heated (no electricity in this place, so it
takes some time) and hit the sack early.
Saturday morning brought
clear blue sky, -10 degrees, excellent snow conditions,
so we went for a good cross country ski run. It was excellent! Totally
quiet and beautiful with all white
mountains and the two of us skiing.
As we returned to the cabin, Katja said "This day, we will never
forget!".
"Was it all that good and beautiful?" I thought briefly, the
enthusiasm didn't quite fit in, I did not think it was i
THAT special. But paid no further attention to it. We were home early
and had a nice late lunch, good books
and cracking sounds from the fireplace. Really cosy.
After dinner, we actually
got a nice short message from my father with a hint of
"Facts on a Saturday" a TV program which would today show "Big
wave surfing".
It was a very nice Documentary of big wave surfing showing the ups and
downs of the monsterwavesurfing.
We started recapturing
the good times in Cabarete and drifted off for a couple of minutes after
the show.
Well, -15 outside
(outdoor toilet too, yes, real traditional norwegian cabin), pulled us
back to reality,
into the fireplace, a good book and some redwine. It was really nice......
"Wanna have some fun!" Katja suddenly said (totally out of the
proper mood for this kind of setting ) but I
replied "Yeah, sure" - I am into everything which is fun! (Especially
one on one in a warm cabin in the
norwegian mountains in front of a fireplace...)
She went over to the shelf
and pulled out my black "cap/hat/beanie/goma".
"Put this on,
and no peeking"... she said.
"Hey this is getting better and better" I thought, "for
sure I am into this kind of fun". I even got the
radio on my lap to avoid hearing the sounds of whatever she was doing.
H mmmmmmmm.... this is taking quite a long time .... What is she doing?
Well whatever it is I
AM LOOKING FORWARD TO IT!
